WLIFW: Varun Sardana
Varun Sardana's collection was called, 'A Quaint Little Town' in which the play on textures and origami'esque draping of clothes was apparent. While there were the expected charcoal hues, they were picked up by bursts of pinks, teals and blues! And there was the Fall favorite, purple.
There was plenty of shimmer and shine and many pieces with harlequin prints, perhaps as on ode to the preppy quaint little town?

I like the quarter length draped charcoal pant, and the draped charcoal dress. The harlequin print dress is beautiful as well, and the use of pink give life to the dark tones, and the metallic threated fabrics are used adequately.
Better than some other collections, but I don't know if it will appeal to the Indian market.
Amazingly international- unpretentious and innovative. After a lifetime working in the international fashion market, I would say this is the most modern expression of indigenous style that I have seen from any indian designer. A few more designers like this and I would say Indian fashion can truly go global
