most of these stage costumes are made so trashy. even if the designers are trying to simulate a character (lets say....a prostitute or a cabaret dancer.) then i wonder why the background dancers have it so much better.
the outfit at the filmfare awards Kareena is wearing simply has no class....regardless of what character she was trying to portray

Agree, Kareena's Filmfare outfit is very trashy...
they all look trashy to me. I noticed on a different site that even the chote ustad little kids were given such trashy clothes for stage...poor kids.

sad, sad that these girls get paid big bucks to look like that on stage. Sack the stylist and the designer.
These events will go down to history, and if these were the outfits to be worn then it's wiser to bring your own outfits. Then again, one needs to have good taste in clothing and styling.
The people around them should also stop complimenting on their looks with such outfits.
God you Indians dance in dresses like that on stage? Wow, Bollywood is quite loud, is it not? Thats why probably the designers decided to implement every element, from glitter, to frill, to sequins et all in the clothes.

Its unfair to categorize that only "us Indians" dance like this.. I have seen a Ms Britney Spears wear tackier and blingier outfits!
Payal, Britney is white thrash, any way you look at her, I am assuming these girls are from classier backgrounds than her!
