A Quick Change!

Dipannita left her Gauri and Nainika dress behind and donned a Sabyasachi for his show at Lakme Fashion Week. Coincidentally, Vidya who was also in Sabyasachi had worn a similar outfit to the Anandalok Awards back in Dec 2007.

Weird. Ain't it? A die hard Sabyasachi fan, Rani, who almost always wears his creation to his shows, showed up in informal western wear.

On the other hand, a bling loving Vidya, showed up in a demure Sabyasachi creation. Notice, how she has no jewellery on her. Taking it easy after her blingy Filmfare debacle, maybe?

It's either that Vidya asks for it or designers simply hate her. Cuz, we really don't understand why designers like Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, would knowingly make an outfit of theirs sooo ugly by blinging it to the core!

Baby Steps, Please!

I wish Vidya would take baby steps while undergoing her image makeover. Do you blame us. We see her first in this "jhataak-mataak" outfit for an event at the Lucera store and then she does a complete 180 and wears a really funky outfit to an event to celebrate Valentines with cancer patients at the Orchid City Centre in Mumbai!

On second thought, those ugly strappy sandals actually make me not like the other outfit either!

Purple sure seemed the theme of the night at the premiere of Halla Bol. We saw not one but three peeps who wore purple.

Keeping It Simple?

We have been noticing this trend where actors wear a very simple outfit that is embellished with gemstones. While the concept seems interesting, we are yet to see a really good example of this. Vidya's and Katrina's outfits totally lack that "wow" factor.

On the other hand, if the outfits did wow us, we would have everybody wearing it, wouldn't we? Did you forget about the "Anarkali" already?

"I'm Not A Jewelry Person"- Vidya Balan

"I am not a jewelry person, as I am not as fond of it. I like simple and understated jewelry because (otherwise) it is really cumbersome while you are shooting,"

I guess that pretty much explains why Ms Balan picked a "dog collar with a chain" lookalike for a necklace and happily posed in it for the jewelry launch for Mirari in Delhi.



What I pity more is that she also had to pose next to two beautiful models who looked a hundred times better in (guess what!) UNDERSTATED pieces!

Who Dressed Worse?

Below are pictures of Divya Khosla and Vidya Balan at the Bhool Bhulaiyaa press meet (left and right, respectively) and its hard to judge who was worse off! While Khosla's was downright blinding, gaudy and loud, not that I expected much else, but, Balan's look was just ugly and dated and its unforgivable that she works on looking that way when she has such an old-world, classic, conventional charm that she could use to her advantage!
