First, there was this gaff at the Stardust awards, and then, there was this other fashion-misdemeanor that almost slipped under the radar! Almost.

How similar are the two dresses below? Emily Blunt wore Herve Leger at the 2007 Golden Globes and then we spotted Gul Panag in a remarkably similar gown designed by Mandira Wirk at the recent Stardust awards.

Love It Or Hate It?

While Sonali's fashion faux pas was completely unintentional, Gul on the other hand was more than happy to show her innerwear yet again!

The Best Dressed..

..at the 53rd Filmfare Awards, after seeing Bips and Preity, definitely was Gul Panag. I already had given her the crown, but was waiting to see the rest of the crowd. (And that crowd consisted of only Bipasha and Preity.)

So now that Bips was way over the top with her "larger than life" gown, and Preity was way too blah with her strapless dress, I can't help but award the title to Gul!

Gul Gets It Right

There was something amiss in Gul's ensemble at the SET Stardust awards and I always thought it was the hair. well, my instincts were correct, cuz last night at the 53rd Filmfare Awards, Gul was an absolute sight for sore eyes!

This time, the dress was perfect, the hair was perfect, heck, everything was perfect!

No "Anarkali" At This Award Show!

At the SET Max Stardust Awards, there was no sighting of the "Anarkali". In fact, apart from Celina, almost everyone attending chose to wear a dress. Some wore it long, some short.

Will The Real Gul Please Stand Up

She looks effortlessly well put together in her beige diaphanous top at one event and then at another she turns up in a horrible halter with those rosettes!

And what you can't tell from that picture of hers in that red halter is that she has hair-clips on on either side of her head, and the kicker is the fact that on one side she sports an orange clip and on the other a light,lime green!!!! Don't even ask!!!

Gul Panag goes from fab to drab in a heart-beat and has more schizophrenic-fashion-personalities than Bjork has feathers on her swan costume!

Bag Spotting

We spotted Gul Panag carrying a Gabbriel Ichak bag at the Daboo Ratnani Launch.

Gabbriel Ichak is known for making bags out of recycled materials. The bags, which cost from $25 to $80, are available at his showroom in NY and Fred Segal in LA.

The theme of Subi's calendar was comical, but at the event the most comical character had to be Maria Goretti in this ensemble!

And on a separate note, while I loved Gul in these oxford boots when she wore it with a black dress, the color clash between the boots and the outfit is too much to handle! How can they miss such simple things. It is always a mystery to me. Don't people look in the mirror anymore?

Gul Panag sure knows what fashion fads are in. While, I prefer to wear ankle boots with opaque tights, others prefer to go bare. Gul chose the latter and looks aight. The scarf around the neck was unnecessary though.

Peek-a-bra

What can ruin a perfectly cute pink dress. You got it. A bra that is not supposed to be seen! And what's worse than that.. when its a black bra under a light colored cloth. That is the blunder that Gul Panag made while wearing this pink sheath dress.



So.. you want to wear a great dress but the straps are narrow, what do you do?

For starters, wear a strapless bra. Your best bet is a nude color because you can wear it under light or dark colored clothes.

If a strapless does not support you well enough, then get some double sided tape to stick the bra straps to the dress. That way even if you move, your bra won't get a mind of its own and make an appearance!

Spotted the usually poorly styled Gul Panag at Anita Dongre's Organic Odyssey, looking quite pretty and well put together! She was wearing a really simple yet very pretty dress from Anita Dongre's collection and was looking good! But this repeat fashion offender is not totally off the hook yet. She was also carrying a Louis Vuitton bag and if you have been reading this blog, you know that we have a problem with 'obnoxious-logo-slapping-all-over-the-product' type of bags!

And here is Gul Panag again on my radar, for reasons not so rosy!

Ms. Panag was at the Audio Launch of Manorama Six Feet under, working the bare midriff look, yet again! Is it just me or she looks like she is out and about in her night clothes? So ok, we get it, you have a flat stomach and great abs, but there are better ways to drive that point home. There have got to be. And that peachy excuse of an outfit just won't fly!

She is a such a beautiful woman and its such a shame that she keeps popping up on my radar!

And now compare that to the lacy, whimsical dress that Charlize Theron wore for the premiere of her new movie, The Valley Of Elah at the Venice Film Festival!

The colors here too are muted and understated and the dress has a flimsy, transluscent feel which gives it that ultra feminine and flirty, dreamlike quality! Charlize's little-off-white-dress also has ribbon detailing but thats where all similarities end. Ms. Theron's dress was at a whole other level and absolutely stunned!

More Burnt-out Fashion At Aag

Maybe they didn't get the memo, but aren't premieres a formal occassion? Isn't that a place where you gussy up, so that, when I look at the pictures of you, I want to go watch the movie, just a tad more? Sushmita obviously missed the boat, in an uninspired see through shirt! But somebody please tell me what Gul Panag was thinking dressed like that at RGV's Aag premiere?

The whole midriff look works when you are lunching with your girlfriends or at a beach. Just about anywhere else, its tacky. And the tee, oh boy! While am all for pop-kitsch, that wouldn't have been my first pick! And you know whats coming next.. The sequinned gold/pink undertone bolero. Two words: Doesn't Work.

All in all, an outfit put together in two seconds flat when blindfolded. Kudos.
