At the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, we spotted the LV Miroir Speedy in Raveena's hands! The metallic bag can be quite flashy but somehow it seems to gel real well with her yellow outfit and looks quite nice!

Lusting For Louis
The recent appearance of Ms. Shetty at Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 08 show at Paris Fashion Week got me thinking of her and her Louis Vuitton obsession...
Don't believe me, just look at the number of times we have seen her with Louis Vuitton bags...
I hate the monogram else I'd definitely be calling this quite an enviable collection...
The apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree! We've spotted Mommy Shetty carry a LV or two herself, so maybe thats where Shilpa gets it from?

Guess Who Made It To Front Row?
Spotted Shilpa Shetty at the Louis Vuitton Fall 08 show!! Its the Paris Fashion Week and she was front row!!
While its normal for front-row attendees to wear or carry something from the designer whose show they are attending...I just have to fault Shilpa's stole! Is the monogrammed shawl the best she could do? Really?
Also, check her arm candy out... She is carrying the LV Joke Bag (thats what it is called!)! The bag has jokes by Henny Youngman and the logo is designed by artist Richard Prince, who is known for his Jokes series work pertaining to sexual frustrations and middle-class American mentality. And so the bag has quite a bit of sexist jokes on it and is called 'The Joke Bag'! Made the connection?
You might scoff at her 'Big Brother' tide of fame but look where it got her and hey if she is front-row at Paris Fashion Week, she gets top billing from us! It might be Kareena who wants to be like Victoria Beckham but look who has an 'in' with Marc Jacobs!! Let the claws come out!

More Clutch Spotting

Blame China for producing so many fakes that just about everyone struts around with the now (in)famous LV monogrammed bag. But, every now and then, other monogram haters like me carry items from LV's other collections, like this "Limelight" clutch on Farah Ali at the launch of OPI's "Indian collection".
Now, this clutch, I really really like and it looks good on everything! While, the LV site has the black and gold version, you can search on eBay for the silver one. Just be ready to shell out a lot more cash for it though!

That Bag Spotting Thing!
Ekta Raheja has one of these in white and now spotted Sophie Chaudhary at the Araaish event with the Chanel! Also seen was Juhi Chawla with her Lady Dior!! (Oh, and if you are curious, the unidentified lady in the centre with Juhi Chawla is carrying the Fendi Baulotto Bag!!)
We did do quite a bit of Bag Spotting and all the usual suspects were there! Manyata and Bhagyashree were carrying the same ol' Louis Vuitton and Gucci bags (respectively), so blah!

Kareena In Vogue, Decoded
It was just a matter of time before Kareena was featured in Vogue and for her editorial spread, she had the choicest designers' clothing, all from their Spring Summer 08 collections..the clothes are fabulous, she fantastic, and we, just a bit envious!
Am just a bit in love with paint smeared Dolce and Gabbana. How fabulous is that?

Bag Spotting

Whoa, Anupama Verma must still be making some reallly big bucks! How else was she able to get this LV Griet Tote!! The bag first featured on Scarlett Johanssen when she did the LV promos and the last time we checked, the listing on eBay for the tote was for more than $3000.

Some people just have all the luxuries in life! So unfair!!!

BagSpotting!

Spotted Bhumika Puri at the Mumbai Festival, more specifically, at an exhibition of Indian Contemporary Art, carrying Louis Vuitton's Salina GM bag.
This bag is smacking new from Louis Vuitton and retails with a hefty price-tag of $2850. Inspired by Marc Jacobs, its splash of red is a welcome change to the dreary monogram!

Bloom'ing Love
If you thought that influences of the 'garden-variety' were limited to the clothes in the Spring 2008 collections, you are wrong! The inevitable happened and the influence tipped over onto accessories as well.
Thankfully, not much of that happened because no matter what they say, I just don't think lugging around a floral bag that costs $$$$ is fashionable! But some of these shoes were cute (ooh, Blahnik!!)...as were some of the pieces of jewellery that I saw, again, emphasis on 'some'!!
Left: Missoni
Right: Dolce & Gabbana
Left: Manolo Blahnik
Right: Bottega Veneta
Left: Ralph Lauren
Right: Balenciaga
Left: Louis Vuitton
Right: Marc Jacobs
Left: Alexandra Neel
Right: Prada

Louis Vuitton For Darjeeling Limited

Source
The Wes Anderson movie, Darjeeling Limited has been panned in its reviews but thats not the point, is it? The point you ask? But of course, the Louis Vuitton luggage. The movie revolves around three brothers' journey through India carrying their dead father's luggage! Louis Vuitton luggage that is. Designed by Jacobs for Vuitton using aged calfskin, velvet lining and a special jungle pattern (the pattern created by Anderson's brother)!
The luggage was on display at the New York LV store for a limited time and was auctioned off, the proceeds of which went onto benefit UNICEF and the Rawal Mallinathji Foundation, a medical treatment charity in India!

Pardon Us, We Converted!
If you have read this blog long enough, you'd know that nothing puts us off more than excessive monogrammed anything, especially bags! And Louis Vuitton always made that list, because, for some reason, we could never figure out why everyone insisted on carrying the boring brown monogram when there were better bags out there, including some from Louis Vuitton itself!
Imagine our surprise when we saw the Louis Vutton Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear Collection! Marc Jacobs absolutely went to town with it! Talking of the bags, they were quirky, colorful and so over the top!
Source
Am sure the Vuitton purists considered this, no less than a sacrilege but since we were never too big on the brown monogram, it didn't take us long to be gushing over the kitschy, oh-so-fun bags! The Ostrich (below, left) is gorgeous and look at the difference those ombré handles make on that white, multi-colored monogram bag (below, right)!!
Source
Hoorah to the retro-psychedelia!! These could easily be our favorites...
Source
And, this, definately a front-runner as far as favorites go! So much so that Chamiya longed to pre-order hers! I predict many a young starlet sporting this arm-candy come Spring next year! It is trendy, summery and all things nice!

Source
The show had a vibe that was new and fresh and we loved its irreverent nod to the monogrammed bags! Call it creative genius or commercial hara-kiri, but from us, it gets a big thumbs-up!
