Channeling Celina?

Why is it that when I saw Dia, it just reminded me of Celina?

Was it the white halter neck gown or the matronly pulled back hair, or both!?

Dia In Arshiya Fakih Eappen

It looks like the "bubble" dress is still not out. And, why should it be, when Dia Mirza can make it look sooo goood! Dia, who recently walked for Arshiya at Lakme Fashion Week, wore her creation to the Krazzy 4 press meet and she sure didn't dissapoint. Definitely much better than her appearance in Rocky S.

P.S. While, we couldn't find the exact dress, above is a dress from Arshiya's Fall 08 line using the same materials.

Dia In Shaina NC & Ritu Kumar

Dia in Shaina NC

Dia in Ritu Kumar

I love that Shaina has innovative ways of tying a sari but do I care for her designs? Ummm.. not so much. What do you think of the white one on Dia.

Updated: I mistakenly wrote that both saris were by Shaina. That isn't the case.

The SBD: Face Off

Both, Dia and Sophie stepped out saturday night in short black dresses. Which one worked and which didn't?

My vote went to Sophie just cuz Dia's dress was just plain bizzare! Those sleeves just look so funny!

From The Archives

A lot of you expressed an interest in seeing more posts of celebs repeating their clothes and different celebs being spotted in the same clothes...so we've been keeping our finger on the archives to see what we might have missed earlier on (intentionally or not!)...

Plus, it also helps on a slow news day ;)

Spotted Bhumika Puri repeat her hideous printed top...And also caught Dia Mirza and an unidentified lady in the same ugly gold dress!!

A leprechaun somewhere is missing his halloween costume and his pot of gold!

Read The Fine Print, Its A Mess

Thats Dia Mirza at the launch of Sahara's Bollywood Ka Boss, sporting a long printed silk dress/tunic, multi-colored beads, a bronze metallic clutch and brown suede shoes, with bows nonetheless!!

Obviously, 'less is more', is a diktat Ms. Mirza chooses to ignore, but really, this outfit could so easily go from drab to fab with just a little editing.

If it were upto me, I'd lose the beads and pick a clutch thats a tad more mellow or neutral. And, instead of denims, I'd have preferred tights and plain black peep-toe pumps or even leggings with flats for a more casual look!

The thing to remember is, pick a point of interest and stick to it! If you choose to wear big, bold and busy prints, then remember to keep everything else minimalistic and simple!

Oh, and Dia's top totally reminds me of this silk print dress by Chloé which if you like, can buy Here!

Of Yin And Yang

At the recent Channel V party for the cast of Dus Kahaneyan, one couldn't help but notice Rituparna Sengupta (above) and Dia Mirza (below). While the former elicited a 'what was she thinking', the latter was a picture of easy elegance!

Dia And Deepika: Similar Tastes?

Do not miss Dia and Deepika wearing the same anarkali style dress in different colors! I love the white version on Dia. Maybe that's why she wear's it again and again. Deepika's red version just looks too gawdy. What do you think?

When Dia Does Back-To-Back

Source

Above, you see Dia Mirza at the opening of Coleen's hair and beauty saloon 'Snow White' (why she chose to call it 'Snow White' eludes me, worries me even, but we'll save that for later!), and below, is a picture of Dia at the launch of Hemchandra's debut album (of Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2005 fame).

Such is the burden of 'celebrity' when events need to be done back-to-back and time itself becomes hard-pressed. But that is of course no excuse for intentional style hara-kiri!

Why not start with something that can easily transcend from one look to another? Start with a simple black dress for one event and for the next throw on a stole or different accessories or even shoes. If it is trousers and a top, carry a jacket with you and throw it on for the next event. Even change of jewellery, shoes and a bag helps! None of which takes any time by the way, just switch/change/throw on in a matter of minutes (or even on the commute)!

All that is needed however, a bit of fashion foresight!

A Look Vs. Another Look: Part Deux

We spotted Konkona Sen Sharma and Dia Mirza looking refreshing in white at the Middle Eastern International Film Festival held in Abu Dhabi. While Konkana wore a white lace sari with silver accessories, Dia chose a salwar kameez with gold accents.

Naughty Naughty!

People keep telling me to review movies but I know I do not have what it takes to do that. However, once in a while, I have an opinion and I voice it (sometimes I voice it a lot if alcohol is involved..hehe.. ). Having said that, I watched "Cash" over the weekend because I was intrigued by how "Cool" it might be. After all, the last movie Anubhav Sinha had produced was "Dus". It was almost a first of its kind in hindi cinema with stylized action and over the top stunts. Now, I am not going to comment on the movie, there are very many different websites that will answer that question, but I did love the song "Naughty Naughty" that plays during the credits at the end of the movie.

The whole song has been shot entirely in one take! Now that in itself is enough to make a song pretty cool but the list doesnt end there. The set design is very eclectic with walls covered in maps, pictures, chinese writings and lots and lots of funky graphics.

Dia with the "puss in boots" style shoes looks pretty fabulous but not as "out there" like Esha and Shamita. Esha and Shamita are both way over the top, but somehow it works for Shamita but not quite for Esha.

Esha has these exxxxtra long pony tails which quirky as they are, somehow don't really do her justice. On the other hand, Shamita Shetty's puffed hair and high waist pants are just too hilarious! The men in the video in contrast, do not provide much of a shock value in terms of clothes but they do ooze a lot of style. Ritesh is climbing the charts of hot film stars with his subtle, restrained sex appeal.

Combine all of the above with the famous latak jhatak Indian moves and lo and behold, you have an awesome video!

Watch the song...

P.S Did you know the last song that was picturised in one take was "Roop Tera Mastana" ?
