Tied And Dyed
None of us are strangers to 'tie-dye', but I shudder to think it can be worn the way Fergie did! For me it was way overdone and tacky but I do know of some people who think it was hippie-chic and that she pulled it off... I of course beg to differ, what do you all think?
I love the way Berardi did 'tie-dye' for Spring 08 ready to wear... now thats the way to do it! Love.

I like the splashes of yellow in Berardi's collection.
omg you're so right! you know i saw the photo and cringed...and then i was hoping that you guys would also diss it...just made me feel like i know something! hehehe
oooo i agree with amrita, the splashes of yellow looks tres refreshing!
You are spot on P&P. The tie and dye thing looks overdone. It may have worked in another color maybe.
Loved the purple one (the first pic).
I like the last one, but traditional Indian and Japanese way of tie-dye techniques done in tiny details are amazing.
i think the pants are quite hot
prada has tie dye in their new collection as well and it's very subtle. it has blocks of colour blending in with each other. i read somewhere that fashion people are now calling tie dye technique "ombre" which means shadow in french because they don't want to associate themselves with eighties style tie dye disasters like fergie's jeans.
in any case non of this stuff comes even close to the gorgeous bhandhni clothes from gujarat and rajashthan.
I like the tie and die pants but I wish the color was not that close to the denim blue. Also I like the way the pants were paired with a plain white shirt and how the orange belt adds a little color to the outfit. I have a pair of pants in brick color with Kalamkari print. I usually wear them with a white button down cotton shirt and nude strappy sandals.
btw, what bag is she carrying?
This ladies are so sexy.
