Spotted. Dipannita attending Day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week in a Gauri and Nainika outfit(seen also in a halter neck version on Priyanka). The designer duo are a favorite of quite a few ladies. We have seen Bipasha and Deepika wear their creations recently at the Filmfare Awards, but did you know that Tisca and Vidya Malwade also wore Gauri and Nainika to the Star Screen Awards!

WLIFW: Gauri And Nainika

Gauri & Nainika did what they do best, evening and cocktail dresses! There were wide shawl/boat necklines, dramatic draping, and silhouettes that were reminiscent of old world charm with ethereal textures.

The fabrics were layered and teased and there was an unexpected train on a dress here and there. And the color palette swayed between bold with red and fuschia, and classic with black and beige!

A very feminine collection, some of those pieces though, did remind me of Elie Saab.

Red Or Black?

While, a bunch of you didn't like Deepika's Gauri and Nainika gown, look who we found that liked the same dress and chose to wear it in red.

The lady in question is Tanya Sharma, who is about to marry Sabeer Bhatia. Remember him? (Here is a hint: Hotmail!)

While, the pic is not clear, I am sure Tanya's was as good as Deepika's. Just wished she hadn't worn the black ribbon around her waist. Just puts such an immature feel onto this really mature outfit! I know, a lot of you didn't like it, but I really loved this gown! ;)

Deepika Padukone In Gauri And Nainika

We knew Gauri and Nainika were good, but they just seem to get better with every collection. This strapless dress looks sooo good on her! When you are an A-list celebrity, you get to wear a dress that noone has seen yet, but when you aren't, this is what happens! ;)

Again And Again!

We were impressed when Pooja selected this outfit to wear to the Dubai International Film Festival in December 2007, but we are so not impressed that she so quickly decided to wear it again already to the 53rd Filmfare Awards. Even Bipasha still hasn't repeated hers!

Which One Do You Like?

Which version of this Gauri and Nainika dress did you prefer? The one Aishwarya wore to the Longines event or the one we spotted on the lady attending the Kimaya Spring Showcase event?

(It doesn't help that the lady wore those boots with the dress. Just the wrong kinda shoes to wear with a dress like this!)

Edit: Can I say how miffed I am that the ladies had to hide the best part of the dress with their hair!! The braided straps on the dress are what make the outfit different, it is just a shame that straps get hidden! But then, neither am I a fan of Yana's crop!

That's number two for Bips, who seems to influencing the styles of quite a few peeps these days! Another tit-bit about this Gauri and Nainika dress is that Clooney who was also at the film festival was impressed by it and told Pooja, "Wow, your gown looks beautiful!"

Warm Upto A Cold Shoulder

Just a few days ago we began spotting celebrities baring their shoulders and we of course knew it was only a matter of time before that trend caught on across the board considering how many designers worked that look in their Spring/Summer 2008 collections!

Its perfect for women with great collar bones and shoulders; just dress up the outfit with great earrings or chunky bracelets or bangles, or even a fabulous cocktail ring! Trick is to keep away from necklaces, just let the bare shoulders do the talking for you!

I think Gauri and Nainika did such a wonderful job with the dress that Bipasha wore for the Vogue India launch party! It is Grecian, retro, geometrical and totally works for Bipasha! On the right, is the similar dress they did for their Spring 2008 collection during Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

On the left, the picture is of Priya Tanna, the editor of Vogue India, at the Vogue India launch party. I love the color of the dress, but if the said dress is actually working for her, now, thats a verdict you'll have to make! Am not sure who made her dress but it is remarkably similar to the dress that Elisha W did for her Spring 2008 collection during Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Day 3: Gauri And Nainika

Gauri And Nainika's collection was called 'A Closet Full of Dresses' and was really quirky and full of bright contrasting colors! The voluminous, balloon dresses had to be the most fun! Almost makes you want to go swing dancing...

The cuts were simple, prints were uncomplicated and the design was no-fuss!
