Runway To (Red) Carpet

I always pictured that billowing orange gown from Lanvin Spring 08 to be more editorial than red carpet and now am convinced! While I appreciate Padma Lakshmi's choice over the more straight and narrow gowns, this gown to me just didn't translate that well from the runway onto the red carpet!

First, there was this gaff at the Stardust awards, and then, there was this other fashion-misdemeanor that almost slipped under the radar! Almost.

How similar are the two dresses below? Emily Blunt wore Herve Leger at the 2007 Golden Globes and then we spotted Gul Panag in a remarkably similar gown designed by Mandira Wirk at the recent Stardust awards.
