Spotted Avanti Birla in a white cowl-necked sheath dress that she accessorized with Alexander McQueen Spring 2007 shoes and a Fendi clutch. While I liked the fact that since her shoes were so over the top, she kept every thing else basic and minimal, I do wish she chose a dress that was more flattering and not so form-less...

Alexander McQueen Fall 08

Alexander McQueen after a trip to India, drew inspiration from the many images of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, the then Indian Empire and forties/fifties British couture as worn by Elizabeth II and translated it all beautifully into his collection for Fall 2008 ready-to-wear.

There were exquisite dresses, play on saris, severely cut military tailcoats, brocade suits, crisp high-necked shirts, period inspired shoes and millions of dollars' worth of antique Indian jewelry!

A brilliant, brilliant show in all.

The Butterfly Effect at Paris Fashion Week

While Manish Arora had 1500 glow in the dark butterflies sown into a gown, a model for Mina Perhonen opened show by cutting out fabric from her dress to reveal the the white butterfly company emblem. Alexander McQueen accessorized his outfit with a hat made of butterflies and Andrew GN had simple butterfly prints on his clothes.
